Man: Excuse me, I couldn’t help but notice you over here alone. Can I join you
for a cup of coffee?
Woman: Sure, that sounds nice.
Man: Great! My is Tom, what’s yours?
Woman: Hi Tom, I’m Sarah.
Man: Nice to meet you, Sarah. So, what you here today?
Woman: Just grabbing a coffee and doing some work on my laptop.
Man: Ah, that sounds productive. I’m actually here because I was to meet
someone interesting.
Woman: (smiling) Oh really?
Man: Yes, really. And I have to say, I find you interesting. Would you be
interested in going out sometime?
Woman: (hesitant) I’m not sure…
Man: It’s okay if you’re not interested, but I would love to get to know you better. Can
I at least have your number?
Woman: (smiling) Okay, sure. Let me give you my number.
Man: Great! Thanks, Sarah. I’ll give you a call soon and we can plan fun
to do together.
Woman: Sounds good, Tom. Looking forward to it.

Man: Excuse me, do you hear that noise from the bathroom?
Woman: Yes, it’s very loud. I wonder what’s going on.
Man: I’m not sure, but I think it might be a fire. We should probably leave the
building in case.
Woman: (panicking) Oh no, what should we do?
Man: Let’s quickly gather our things and out of the library. We can call 911 once
we are outside.
Woman: (nodding) Okay, that sounds like a good plan.
Man: (while exiting the library) Sorry for interrupting your studies, but safety comes
first.
Woman: (smiling) No worries, it’s to be safe than sorry.
Man: (taking a deep breath) By the way, my name is Alex. What’s your name?
Woman: Hi Alex, I’m Laura.
Man: Nice to meet you, Laura. So, what were you studying before the alarm went
off?
Woman: (laughing) To be honest, I was struggling to . I have a big exam coming
up and I couldn’t concentrate.
Man: I know how you feel. I have an important project due next week, and I’ve been
having trouble staying focused too.
Woman: (interested) What kind of is it?
Man: It’s actually a website that I’m building for a client. I’m a freelance web
developer.
Woman: (impressed) That’s really cool. I’ve always been in technology and
programming.
Man: (smiling) Well, I’m always happy to talk tech. Maybe we can grab a coffee
sometime and more about it?
Woman: (smiling) I would like that. Here, let me give you my number.

Man: Excuse me, have you seen a little dog around here? He’s a terrier, brown and
white, and to the name of Charlie.
Woman: (sympathetically) I’m sorry, I haven’t seen him. When did you last see him?
Man: (sadly) About an hour ago. I let him off his leash for a bit and he ran off chasing
a squirrel. I’ve been for him ever since.
Woman: (compassionately) That’s terrible. I hope you find him soon.
Man: (hopeful) Thanks, me too. Hey, by the way, my name is Mike. What’s yours?
Woman: Hi Mike, I’m Anna.
Man: Nice to meet you, Anna. I know this is probably not the time, but I was
wondering if you would like to go for a walk around the park with me? Maybe we
can find my dog together.
Woman: (surprised but interested) Okay, sure. I don’t helping out.
Man: (grateful) Thanks, Anna. I really appreciate it.
Woman: (smiling) No problem, Mike. Let’s start looking for Charlie.
Man: (excitedly) Great! And who knows, maybe we’ll find him and get to know each
other better.
Woman: (laughing) You never know. Stranger have happened.
Man: (smiling) Exactly. So, tell me about yourself, Anna. What do you like to do in
your free time?
Woman: (talking about herself) Well, I love to read and go on hikes. And I also love
trying new restaurants and trying food.
Man: (interested) That sounds great. I love hiking too. Have you hiked any trails
around here?
Woman: (nodding) Yeah, I’ve hiked a few trails in this . They have some
beautiful views.
Man: (smiling) Sounds like we have a lot in common. Maybe we can plan a hike
together sometime.
