Dialogue: Sharon & Hoa

Hoa: Sorry... I no English good. Doctor... talk?

Sharon: That's okay, don't worry. Do you speak Vietnamese?

Hoa: Yes, Vietnamese.

Sharon: I'll call our translation service — one moment, please. Hello, this is Sharon at reception, I need a Vietnamese interpreter for a patient. Thank you.

Sharon: Someone will translate by phone in a few minutes.

Hoa: Thank you, thank you.

Sharon: You're welcome. Please sit here and wait. When the doctor calls your number, I'll bring the phone with you.

Sharon: Great — it's number 15, right? I'll come get you.

Role-play this dialogue with a partner — one plays Sharon, one plays the patient. Then switch roles. What would you do if no interpreter was available for 30 minutes?

如果三十分鐘內都沒有翻譯人員,你會怎麼做?
